Recap – Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend
Hola chicas I can honestly say this past weekend was one of the most powerful, impactful and positive experiences of my life! To sum up Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend is no easy task and honestly, for me almost impossible to put into words put I’ll try my best to capture this experience.
It all started Friday night for An Evening with Orpah and I didn’t even realize I was dressed for the occasion matching the shades of the tour logo.
For 2 hours Oprah graced the stage and said one thing we all have in common is we want to know we matter. She told many personal stories which shaped her life and assisted in finding her life’s purpose. One of my personal favorites was Oprah negotiated her way into 1st grade only after attending kindergarten for a few hours, even at a young age, she was always bold. Everyone has a purpose and a reason to be here and an inner voice that speaks to us, we just need to be still and listen. Throughout life, our experiences and decisions are essentially dots and to find what you have been called to do you must find a thread that connects the dots of your life.
“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” — Oprah
Day 2 started with a little stop to O-Town where I stopped by the Olay Lounge for a few skincare samples, mini makeovers by CoverGirl, scalp massages by Pantene and I got to share with Olay when I feel ‘My Best Beautiful’ in the video below.
Just a few more snapshots from O-Town, where I chatted with the rep in the Tide Lounge all about washable fashion and the collection designed by Tracy Reese (say goodbye to trips to the dry cleaners).
After I wrapped up in O-Town, it was time for Oprah and her trailblazers to take the stage and it all started with a meditation session with Deepak Chopra. Deepak’s closing remark, Meditate in the morning and the day will take care of itself and will organize. Eat, Pray, Love author Elizabeth Gilbert spoke about the hero’s journey and how choosing to create the life you want is extremely difficult but beyond rewarding. Next up was Pastor Rob Bell with the message that the life you want begins by embracing the life that you have because life is miraculous. The final trailblazer to speak was Iyanla Vanzant who said, “Life will bring you experiences and you have to learn to hold the love and let go of the pain.”
I am beyond grateful I was able to attend this event and wanted to pass along the Life You Want Tour app for you all to receive Deepak’s meditation and so much more.
In life, you HAVE to pay attention, be still, follow the flow and share it! I’m working to create a new vision and with so many personal changes in my life, it is time for me to just pay attention and be still for clarity.
