Val’s Style – Top 5 Outfits of 2012

Hola chicas…happy hump day everyone!! As promised this week we are taking a look back on the short time Style to Envy has been on the scene, I’m sharing my Top 5 outfits of Val’s Style.  So without further ado my FAVORITES ;)

Coming in at Number 5 Boots, Shorts, Fur

So this year I fell in LOVE with this fur vest which is perfect for the not so cold fall and winter in Houston.  I paired shorts, riding boots, a blouse all together and topped it with my favorite new third piece and channeled my inner Rachel Zoe or Olivia Palermo.  It’s amazing how 1 piece can have endless options and transform any look.

My Number 4 Look, Tux it Up

I have wanted a pair of tuxedo pants when I spotted Blake Lively in a pair by Lanvin back in July.  Since Lanvin wasn’t happening for me I was on the hunt for a similar pair in my price range and thank heavens for these skinnies from Arden B.  I added a contrast button down from Forever 21 for an instant tuxedo.

My Number 3 Look for 2012 In the Blues Inspired by Neiman Marcus

One thing to know is I really try to wear items my wardrobe as much as possible.  When I saw a look during a fashion show featuring a leather blazer and brocade dress – I got excited.  The mix of textures and overall look was something I had to recreate and the best part was the jacket had been in my closet for years.

For the Number 2 Spot, High Low & Fur

Told you I fell in love with this fur vest – so of course, it made the list twice!  Probably the most over the top ‘diva’ outfit I have worn.  I’m always looking for a reason to wear Herve Leger, add a fur vest and mixing in affordable items from Shoe Dazzle and Forever 21 just made me feel like a million bucks.  I had so much fun in this ensemble!

The top spot my Number 1 for 2012 is Fall into Neon

What can I say this outfit just makes me HAPPY!  I had all the pieces in my closet for months and one day just a took a second to notice how perfect they all work together…a bit more bright and match then I generally wear but fashion is all about trying new things.  Baroque shorts with a black pair of tights, pink shorts, and neon top get you a lot of attention in a GREAT way.

I’m realizing my style is leaning more towards the diva in ‘tomboy diva’ and that’s OK with me.  For 2013 I plan to keep pushing my personal style and focus a bit more on having fun with my office style.

Which of the Top 5 Outfits of 2012 was your favorite?
